Born and raised in Hindu Family in Kathmandu, Nepal, composer and multiinstrumentalist Manish first got carressed by musical sound in his childhood. It was then when he first discovered that he had a voice to sing as a gift given by the nature and and was attracted by the sound of guitar( which he still plays)at the age of twelve.Taking private lessons in music theory, he soon began playing and singing with friends in School and home town. As a keen explorer of music and of various cultures, to develop his musical horizon, he joined and graduated in Ethnomusicology which included the study of world music and music of ethnic groups around the globe. In this course period, he got introduced to Nepali and Hindustani Classical music and specialized in Sarod (principal instrument of Nepali and Hindustani classical music) and vocal under the guidance of his teacher Suresh Raj Bajracharya and Prabhu Raj Dhakal(Famous musicians and teachers of Nepal).
His concert is a sonical space created by the sound of Sarod, voices based on the theory of Hindustani Classical music which is also known as Sastriya Sangeet. As described by the participants it is a peaceful musical journey which helps attendees to experience inner peace and harmony.
Manish Oom will offer workshop to find harmony within ourself, a moment when the inner silence and consciousness unites, and takes us in a state of inner peace and balance which will help us to be in harmony with ourselves and the others, in our day to day life.
It includes the introduction of Nada Yoga. Many different techniques to connect with the Inner sound..
He will teach Pranayama, A form of yoga which deals with physical, mental and spiritual balance. Practice of Mantras, Relaxation and meditation with the sound of sarod and voice, using the system of Indian classical music which encircles us within the vibration produced by the Ragas. And there will be basic lesson of Singing Ragas .The duration is 2 hrs minimum
